It was the pandemic when John went a bit YOLO. Afraid he might die without ever truly creating his own clothing brand, he took matters into his own hands. While the whole world was locked indoors ordering fast food, John was watching true crime shows on Netflix and ordering samples of clothing and accessory designs. His idea was simple - create a clothing brand where each new drop is like a new episode of a TV show. So he came up with "Kiwie Bureau of Investigation" - or in short, KBI - where he plays the main character: a street artist who accidentally brought one of his creations, the Kiwie monster, to life. Now everybody is trying to catch the monster - John, because he wants to save him, and KBI, because they want to stop the chaos in the city.
Each new drop is a new crime scene caused by the monster, and all the evidence found at the scene becomes the new collection. Mixing real life with an imagined universe, Grandpa aimed to create a unique, story-driven streetwear brand that could outlive him. Nobody ever knows when the next drop will happen, not even John - it’s been a year since the last one - but I’ve seen him secretly testing new cut T-shirts and hoodies when no one is watching. All clothing and accessories are sourced from around the world, focusing on the best humanly possible quality. Grandpa likes it to be neat, even if the last drops looked like somebody made the pieces with a chainsaw. To acquire KBI merch or learn more about Grandpa’s streetwear brand, press the button below.
